This is the start of the build for a Sport Hydro to run against the gas guys. I wanted a hull that I did not care if they got excited and ran me over again. This Pro boat was aquired on RR for the price of a 8L Hacker motor about four or five years ago.
Hear is the motor that will be pushing the boat. Retail $169.00 from me, so this will be a inexpensive build. Not sure of the ESC I might use a China 180 or 200 model. I have two 40.160 but one is going back for repair.

I am still fine finishing the hull. I sand blasted the paint off the hull and Patched the rough parts with Epoxy resin and Milled CF with a small amount of Cab-o-sil. Then I have been Bonding the surface for the fine finish. I filled the Pro Boat strut mount with the resin and bondo. I probably should have taken some pictures of the bondo area. Sorry I forgot. Durring the finishing I re primer I do have a few pictures of that. I sprayed the top yesterday and the Bottom today.
Rough spots like this will be bondo.

It will be better this way as long as it holds together more room to stuff cells. I am rebuilding the weak/ill designed parts in the rear of the transom now too.
The transom after cutting a access hatch
All the crap I had to take out and the hole it left.
It will need a lot of repair with fresh FG and CF. that is next.

This mount feels good and strong I picked up the boat by the motor and shook it, it felt solid.
Strut mount built and installed
Strut in place. This one is 1/4 shaft.
